Worried about a friend

Symptoms of concern

  • Depressed mood that impacts functioning
  • Changes in sleeping or eating
  • Withdrawal from friends
  • Risk taking
  • Agitation
  • Mood swings
  • Overwhelming anxiety
  • Substance abuse
  • Talking about death or dying
  • Acting strangely or oddly

Offer support and non-judgmental listening.

Encourage them to seek help through CPS - Call CPS. Offer to walk them over to CPS during business hours or to the UHS Infirmary after hours.

Call CPS; for a consultation about how to best help your friend.

If they mention suicide, do not leave them alone.  Get them immediate help by calling P-SAFE.
